San Juan Bautista

After a very quiet Christmas week kicking around the office, I was keen to get out of the city for the day and take the car for a spin, even with the weather pretty sketchy.  In search of a bit of history and culture I drove south of San Jose to San Juan Bautista, a quaint little village with Spanish colonial roots.  The main attraction is the town original Mission, built between 1797 and 1816 along the old El Camino Real (King’s Highway) – and unfortunately also right on top of the San Andreas Fault.
